Neetal Parekh has focused her legal practice on changing lives in powerful and positive ways. Licensed in 2012, her focus is on immigration law including naturalization, adjustment of status, and removal of conditions on residence. In addition to her legal practice, Neetal is also an expert on making a difference through social entrepreneurship, and the author of 51 Questions on Social Entrepreneurship. Neetal is a volunteer with Tacomaprobono and is certified in the emerging field of Conscious Contracts, which helps people and organizations design agreements to work together in alignment with their mission, values, and communication styles.
In her immigration practice, Neetal is passionate about helping clients reach their goals. “When you are new to a country, so many life decisions can be affected by your status – such as how and where to work, whether to enroll in school, when and where to get married and start a family, whether to buy or rent a home, and so much more,” she explains. “As these things slowly start coming into focus, you can make meaningful decisions about your life and work and pursue your goals and dreams. It’s an honor for me to help my clients adjust status or move forward in their immigration and citizenship journeys.”
The experience of being born to first generation immigrants has shaped how Neetal sees the world and fueled her passion for helping clients navigate the complex US visa and immigration process.
“I love connecting with communities from around the world,” Neetal says. “Empathy and compassion are high among people who’ve shared the experience of immigrating to the United States. They regularly adapt to uncertainty and new surroundings with incredible courage and resilience. The immigrant experience is really the American experience, and I am proud to be part of my clients’ stories.”
In her free time, Neetal enjoys spending time with friends and family and exploring nature and the vibrant community scene of Tacoma.

LAUREN ROMERO
Lauren Romero is a Washington-based veterans’ law and tenants’ attorney. Prior to seeking a law degree, Lauren graduated from The Ohio State University and commissioned as an active-duty artillery officer in the United States Army. Lauren graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 2022. Lauren has primarily focused her law practice on civil legal aid. She has worked at various non-profits and legal aid organizations both as a law student and as a barred attorney. Her first job out of law school was in eviction defense. She fought to keep low-income tenants housed and worked diligently to minimize the poor outcomes individuals experience when going through the eviction process. Both during and after law school, Lauren has been advocating for veterans’ issues and quickly found herself drawn to veterans’ law. Lauren began working in veterans’ law during her second year of law school. Her passion for veterans’ law began during military service. She saw firsthand that a powerful advocate could make the difference between success following military service and potentially a lifetime of struggles. Ever since working in a position to assist veterans, Lauren has sought to establish herself as an advocate to aid veterans in the transition process and ensure they are able to access all the benefits they are entitled to. Lauren has continuously practiced veterans’ law throughout her law career in various capacities handling everything from discharge upgrades, individual unemployability applications, disability benefit applications, increasing disability benefits, education benefits, healthcare benefits, and military records correction. Lauren is ready and willing to take on any fight for benefits that a veteran or their family may face when dealing with the Veterans Administration or Department of Defense.
